Shred-It Sticks it to Customers

Shred-it imposes extra fees to cover lost profits

The largest shredding company in the world, Shred-It has imposed higher fees to their customers in an attempt to cover their losses. Shredding companies around the world have felt the impact of declining paper prices—a factor that contributes greatly to their profit and loss margin. Like other commodities, the price of paper fluctuates, which in turn affects shredding companies who sell paper after it’s been destroyed. In recent months, the price of paper has plummeted, causing a decline in revenue for shredding companies of all sizes, all over the world.

Shred-it imposes recycling recovery surcharge

While everyone in the industry feels the sting from the decline in paper prices, Shred-it’s solution to lost revenue is to hit their customers to cover their profit margin. Their recycling recovery surcharge means higher fees, in some cases more than a 20% increase, for every customer.

Shred-it increases fuel surcharge

In addition to making their customers pay for their losses due to paper pricing declines, Shred-it has also increased their fuel and environment surcharge to cover their costs for fuel for onsite shredding. What this means is that customers are charged an additional fee to cover Shred-it’s cost of fuel, raising their monthly invoices even higher. This increase of 10% is added to the 4% environmental fee they already charge.

You don’t have to incur these costs

All Points Mobile Shredding doesn’t charge environmental, fuel or recycling fees. Although our organization has been affected by the decline in paper prices and the increase in  the cost of diesel fuel, we’re committed to providing our customers with affordable shredding and destruction services without any hidden fees or tacking on additional surcharges for recycling and fuel. We’ve been serving the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach and the surrounding areas since 1994—and as a locally-owned and operated business, it’s our goal to continue to be the shredding company of choice for companies and residents seeking a reliable, experienced and transparent provider.

The fluctuation of market prices for paper and fuel shouldn’t affect the fees you’re paying for shredding and destruction. Shredding companies have a responsibility to their clients to offer fair pricing and to not penalize them in an effort to cover losses in profit. Talk to us at All Points Mobile Shredding to find out about our transparent fee schedule and the many shredding and destruction services we provide.
